Welcome to our website

The 1970s were a great time for music as entertainment ,and for the 70s music to become part of pop culture. It really was a soundtrack to our lives. It is still very surprising to me that the 1970s music is still played everywhere. From disco to Pink Floydd, from the Bay City Rollers to Fleetwood Mac. The 1970s had everything.

In fact it had so much that the charts could not cope. On this site we look at the British charts throughout the 1970s and we look at some of the really amazing singles that did not get into the Top Twenty, but are singles that are still extremely well known.

Music sales were huge during the 1970s, and this caused some of the greatest music to linger in the lower parts of the charts. Here we take a look at those records and even play them again for you to sing a long to. So get a glass of wine, put the 1970s flares on and lets boogie on down.

The charts was compiled for the BBC by the British Market Bureau
